Project Pinterest - Your First Breath Took Ours Away

I could not be more excited to be linking up with the fabulous AP again this week.  I just *love* checking out every one's Pinterest posts last week!!

;
I recently came across this pin {the picture did not link back to anything on Pinterest} and it really spoke it me.  I thought it would be a beautiful addition to our home and a real tribute to the girls.

I didn't really think anything of it though until I was wandering around Lowes with Charlie, and stumbled upon these two clocks.

"Love makes a house a home"

"We do not remember the days we remember the moments"

I thought they were beautiful and loved the sayings written in them.  I set the clocks to the times the girls were born, 8:39pm for Emmy and 10:56am for Charlie, and left the batteries out so the time will stay on the clock.

I then grabbed some 8x10 black frames from the Dollar Tree and got some newborn pictures printed of the girls.

I was a little stumped about the wording I wanted.  I liked the one on the pin about The Best of Times, but it wasn't quite perfect.  I scoured quotes online and just fell in love with the quote "Your first breath took ours away" and since the clocks showcased the times the girls were born and took their first breath, I thought it was perfect.

I went to Michaels to pick up some wooden letters to spell it out, and quickly realized that would cost a pretty penny.  So instead I bought some stencils, ribbon, and an unfinished wood sign.  I painted the front of the sign white and the edges black.  I used a sharpie to stencil on the quote and attached the ribbon on the back.

I hung this above our TV and could not be happier on how it turned out.  I just love looking at it!  I think it's a beautiful way to remember the moment the girls came into our lives.

I love this. I used that quote too, and mixed it with a Pinterest project. I have to see how it looks when I hang it as I am on the fence about it right now. YOURS looks amazing.
