Popsicle Party

Last week I took Emmy and Charlie to a little Popsicle party at Emmy's school.  It was for all the preschool and kindergarten kids to get to know each other a little before school starts.

Skip was working {always} so I brought the girls myself.  Now, I *hate* stuff like this.  Getting-to-know you's and ice-breaker things make me want to vomit and hide under my blanket for the rest of the day.  I hate being in places where I don't know anyone and are forced to make small talk.

But this wasn't about me, it was about Emmy.  And she was soooo excited to go, so obviously we had to!  I got the girls dressed {omg total mom fail in the fact that I dressed my kids in white...for a popsicle party...learn from my mistake} and headed over.

And I'm so glad we went.  Did I have fun, making friends with parents?  Nah, not really.  But Emmy had a great time.  She was running up to everyone, telling them her name and asking what their name was.  Too cute.  She had no trouble just walking up to random kids and playing with them.  I could not believe how grown up she looked running around with all the kids.  My baby!

I was a little disappointed that Emmy's teacher wasn't there for her to meet, but oh well.  And other than Charlie's epic tantrum over me only letting her have two popsicles {the horror!} we had a great afternoon.

Now Emmy is even MORE excited for her first day of school on Monday!

So fun! And the horror of not giving two of everything at our house is the cause of some epic tantrums as well. I am the same way - don't like to make the small talk. I'm horrible at it...

How fun!!! It looks like both girls had a blast! And how do you hate meet and greets like that?! I love meeting the other parents!! By half way through Preston's preschool year last year I was meeting the other Mom's for dinner and drinks! Makes for fun new friends!! Let the countdown begin she starts in only a few more days!!!
