Sadly this year won't really be anything special. Skip is working, family is away, and the girls are too young to bring to our friend's party {high rise apt with beautiful view of NYC...very fancy apt...lots and lots of booze..not a good combo} so we'll just be hanging out at home. If I can stop coughing for more than 30 seconds at a time, I'll throw their red, white, and blue dresses on them and head out to the supermarket to pick up whatever leftover patriotic stuff Stop and Shop has lying around.
But without question, our military, past and present, will be in my thoughts today. Each time a man or woman puts on that uniform and takes that oath, they are helping to preserve our freedom. Their sacrifices will never go unnoticed in this house.
The girls and I will also say a prayer for our men and women in blue. Our cops keep our towns, counties, and states safe every day. They need our thanks and praise as well

And can you believe that this was July 4th last year? How quickly things change!!
