One Pin at a Time

I have a confession to make....



...I'm a Pinterest addict.  Seriously.  I am awake waaay past my bedtime every night just pinning away!  I am disappointed in myself because I resisted joining for so long.  But it is so so good.

I've committed myself to not just letting hours drift by as I pin away...I actually want to make, cook, wear, try most of the things I pin.  Here are just a few of the things I've been working on so far!

You Know You Blog too Much When.....

Yesterday Skip and I took the girls to pick out pumpkins.  As he got into the car I looked at his sweatshirt and said "Why are you wearing your police academy shirt with your last name on it?  Now I can't post any pictures of you on my blog!"

He just laughed and rolled his eyes.

Maybe I should think of a blogging break?

You know what's funny....none of these pictures are really all that flattering of me.  But they capture such happy, wonderful moments in my life that I never want to forget.

Chopped

I can't believe I forgot to post this on here, but two weeks ago I got my hair cut....short.  Like really, really short. 

Now I've never really liked my hair short.  I'm definitely more of a long-hair kinda girl.  But I've treated my hair pretty badly the past few years with all the bleaching, blow-drying, straightening, and whatnot.  The ends were totally fried.  I had still only been getting trims though to try and preserve the length.  But two weeks ago I decided I just needed to start over.  My friend L is a hairdresser and came over to do the chop.  I asked her to cut off all the dead ends, as short as it needed to be.  Here is the end result.

She gave me such a wonderful cut, but it is definitely taking some getting used to....I can't even put it up!  But it is sooooooo much healthier than it has ever been!  So I just have to baby the crap out of it and hopefully it will start growing soon!!!

Menu Planning

One of the things I have been trying to improve on as a wife and mom recently is meal planning.  It's hard for me to get into a regular routine with it, since Skip is only home for dinner like every other week.  I'm way more casual about what Little M and I eat on nights it's just the two of us, but I want to get better about us all sitting down and eating a good meal together when Skip is home.  So last week I really buckled down and managed to make a nice meal every single night!  And my new obsession love of Pinterest definitely helped to inspire me.  So here's what we had {and honestly, I'm just feeling too lay to post all the recipes, but feel free to leave me a comment and I'll email you one if you want}

Tuesday: Mediterranean chicken wraps

Wednesday: Sausage and peppers

Thursday: Pasta with marinara sauce and leftover sausage

So what have you been cooking recently?

Lola

I posted this just a few days ago when it was looking like Lola would not be here on Earth much longer.  On her Caring Bridge site this morning, Lola's mom wrote that she has now peacefully passed.  Please think of Lola's husband and family today as they suffer through their grief.  She is truly an angel now and at peace.

Happy Birthday to Me!

So this is it.  Today I turn

 

...as in the last year before I turn 30!  This is the last year I can say I'm in my twenties.  What happens next year? Do I have to stop wearing jeggings and bikini's?  Will it be wrong of my to continuously listen to Usher and PitBull?  If that's the case then I'll stay twenty-nine forever!

Who knows what next year holds, so I think I'll spend this rainy birthday eating way too many cupcakes and snuggling with my two best little girls!

Future Equestrian

My girl M, loves horses these days....like big puffy pink heart *LOVES* horses.  She has a million little horses as well as a stuffed Bullseye {Toy Story} and Maximus {Tangled}.  So Skip and I have been dying to get her on a real horse!

Thankfully there is a park near us that does pony rides!  So we took Little M the other day and she was in heaven!  And at only $5 for four trips around we will definitely be going there again soon so she can ride on Hank again!  {We only brought our little point and shoot camera so the pics aren't that great
